Full Tour Description

75 kilometres from Madrid you will find the historic city of Toledo declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. Once the capital of Spain this impressive city is best explored on foot, your guided tour takes you through the narrow cobbled streets with its pretty Plazas and small inner courtyards. The tour includes a visit to the 13th century gothic Cathedral, the Treasury with the Custodia del Oro, the Chapterhouse and the Sacristy where the works of El Greco, Goya and Tiziano are exhibited. Toledo was home to El Greco and his famous masterpiece of El Greco El Entierro del Conde de Orgaz, ‘The Burial of the Count of Orgaz’,  can be found inside the Iglesia de Santo Tomé.

In the afternoon the tour makes its way to the synagogue Santa María la Blanca built in the 12th century considered to be the oldest synagogue in Europe and the beautiful 15th century Iglesia de San Juan de los Reyes church with it outstanding Isabelian art and its Mudéjar architecture.
